Picked up my shirts from the cleaner's (as you will recall they closed for the summer holidays the day before I was going to pick them up, some 4 weeks ago), renewed my bus card (290 DKK for zones 1 and 2, 30 days), bought DeWitt's Last Samurai and Murakami's Norwegian Wood in Gad at Central Station, 2 short-sleeved shirts at Torben's at Amagerbrogade.
Weather: Sunny, 26 DEG C, zero wind.
Fast reader? I told you so: "You read between 600 - 650 words per minute. Extremely efficient reading level. (The average rate is between 200 - 250 words per minute.) It is assumed that you did not skim the words nor fail to understand the meaning of what was read", according to this test. And I even wasted valuable seconds scrolling down the page in the browser window. I usually say that I read around 100 pages per hour, when reading novels etc. Source code or computer manuals usually go a bit slower... (via dust from a distant sun)
A Danish test is also available. 1089 words per minute, I should be capable of...

Jeg sympatiserer med hans kritik af GWB, men vil nogen vaere saa venlige at laere manden en smule dansk grammatik? Det hedder "sine naermeste medarbejdere"!! Frygteligt, frygteligt. Left work early, and had time to buy groceries in Irma on my way home. Washed the dishes and carried down the garbage. Went to the gym from 20 to 22. Pecs and biceps. Progress!

Brunch at Cafe Pegasus (Mysundegade, Vesterbro) with Jesper. Gym at S.A.T.S (@parken) from 12:30 to 15 with Jesper and Kimmo. Lats, pecs, triceps, deltoids, lower back. Crap weather.

From Lynettehavnen at 09:30 to the island of Hven (where Tycho Brahe lived and died) and back in 8 hours, average speed 4 kt, with Per and Boerge in Boerge's 22 ft sailboat.

Heard U2 copy band 'Die Herren' live in Soepavillionen. They played too loud (got temporary hearing loss!) and my favorite 'Until the end of the world' didn't sound like it does on my Achtung Baby album :-(

Bought olemichaelsen.dk (with azero.dk, create account at www.gratisdns.dk, ask dk-hostmaster.dk to redelegate the domain from azero to gratisdns). Now thinking about what to use it for. If I remember correctly I have to re-new my student card tomorrow, the 15th, or I'll be automatically exmatriculated from the university. So I guess putting up a website on the domain would be clever. Unless I do re-new the student card, of course.

Cafe Pelikan was closed due to summer holidays, so I read my paper and had breakfast at Cafe Krunch (again). This time with american pancakes (30 DKK). S.A.T.S at 17 with Jose and Kimmo, till then I'll clean up the apartment and try to finish 'Running Dog' (excellent, by the way (but of course, it's a Don Delillo)). I finished SVM's 'Otte Gange Orphan' (the last unread SVM I have) yesterday.
16 DEG C, cloudy, raining. Wind from west, 10 m/s.

Had a late breakfast at Cafe Krunch at Oeresundsvej, did laundry (discovered that there're no public wifi hotspot there), finished reading 'Jakels Vandring'. Didn't go to the gym. Dinner at Jes and Gitte's.

So I went to pickup my shirts from the cleaner's - only to find that they have closed the shop starting from today for the next 3 weeks, due to holidays! I could see my shirts in there, on hangers just inside the window! Went shopping for books, a pair of jeans, had lunch with Jesper at long-time favorite vegetarian restaurant Den Grønne Kælder in Pilestraede.
