It's snowing outside.

This is going to be a boring New Years Eve for me, this year. Originally I had vacation till the 6th of January, but because I'm going away for those two weeks in mid January, I've had to come back earlier to work the first week. So I work today and I work tomorrow, the 1st of January - and the rest of the week. Guess I'll be eating by myself this evening, and going early to bed. Need to be able to get up and work tomorrow. I wish you all the best in 2003!

Togrejse

Besides for the delay of one hour, because somebody apparently pulled the emergency brake somewhere just south of Hamburg, and that the beds are designed for dwarfs, and that I had to change train at 0541 in Würzburg, and 0615 in another small village I've forgotten the name of, the trip went fine. According to my GPS the Euronight Train reached the speed of 199 kmph in its attempt to compensate for the one hour delay. I couldn't live without my GPS. At 0905 I entered my appartment, and now at 1100 I'm at work. I think I'm the only one here. Hope there's food and coffee in the machines downstairs.

Didn't I tell you? Maybe not. Next monday I'm off for 14 days in the Caribbean. From Martinique via Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent to Grenada and back again in a nice white sailboat. Ohhh...

Got my lamps for the living room today.

Had brunch with Thomas and Stine at their place. Met with Brian (former collegue of mine) at 1530 for coffee and nerd talk. Nice to get an update on how things are going at Orange. He drove me to Central Station where I caught the 1851 Euronight Train south (some 1100 DKK totally).

Had lunch with Jesper at Den Grønne Kælder (vegetarian) at 13:00. Very nice and good value for money. Pilestræde 48. Highly recommended. Went to Central Station to buy tickets for the night train tomorrow evening. A little more than 1000 DKK. Leaving 1851, arriving in Darmstadt circa 0800 monday morning. Had coffee with Nina (to whom I am subletting) at my old apartment and picked up my mail, and then later dinner with Per, Sven, and Erik, at Per's place.

It takes 4 hours with the train from Hobro in Jutland to Copenhagen. Had dinner with my brother at his place and saw the Thomas Crown Affair on TV. I want to get into the art-business...

Saw Planet of the Apes, original version on TV. The special effects in the new one are better of course, but the original version is still a better movie. Awfull weather in Denmark: rain, cold, dark.

Went to visit Rune and Grethe with 6 month old twin daughters, Agnethe and Karen, in Klejtrup, west of Hobro.

Kristian picked me up at 01:15 this morning. Drove for 8 hours and crossed the border to Denmark around 9. Caught the train from Vejle to Hobro, where I met with my parents at 12:06. Spent the afternoon sleeping and eating.

Just learned that Orange is withdrawing from Sweden. It has been an expensive adventure: The UMTS license, IT systems, and saleries to some 250 employees in more than one year - without a single customer and thus no income. Pity.

I *did* go to the gym. One hour of biceps and pectoralis major, 3 exercises for each muscle group. Was home at nine o'clock and went straight to bed.

Okay, will just go to the toilet, then pack up my stuff and head for the gym. First time in quite a long time. I really have to do it. I must do it. But I feel like going home and take a nap instead... Ohh.....

Ran 7.5 km in the lunchbreak. High humidity in the air, but no rain. Circa 5 DEG C.

Slept till 1330 - spent the next hour in my bath, bathing, reading the newspaper and eating breakfast. Read a few books and did not wash the stairs (shame on me). Did some laundry.

Luckily I never get hangovers. I might be tired, but I have never headaches. Knock on wood.

Ran circa 8 km at noon. Cold but dry weather. Went to the Terma office in Weiterstadt - for the first time since I started working here - for Glühwein and Lebkuchen and to receive the Terma christmas present: a nice Mora Thermia Bowl and a Nyhavn Salat Server Set, from Bodum Design. Thanks, Winfried.

Left work early to have time to do shopping, but I was too tired. Spent the evening playing boardgames with Markus and Danni at second-to-the-right.

I'm back. I stayed home friday, drank 100 litres of Tea and slept 20 hours. And today I'm back online. I hate being sick, but I managed to read 4 books during, so no time was wasted ;-)

Damn. Was supposed to go to company christmas party this evening in Griesheim - but I feel sick. Will go home now and sleep for some 20 hours and see if I'm feeling better tomorrow. Luckily I got a whole bunch of books from Amazon yesterday to entertain me with.

We're in December, and the weather is like a mild autumn in Denmark. Since Friday it has been 10 DEG C, no wind, and clear blue sky. Ran today at noon with Steve and Dave - 8 km in some 36 minutes. Excellent weather for running.
